Who we are

FBCropDelpo Owes Me Dinner

Rachel, also known as The Sport Bird, famously held up hilarious signs at the 2013 BNP Paribas Open, one of which read, “I won a bet and you’re buying dinner.” Then DelPo actually signed it!

But he hasn’t paid up. Any day now…

In the meantime, Rachel watches pro tennis as often as possible (nearly daily), is a huge Roger Federer fan just like DelPo, and goes to as many tournaments as possible. To date she’s attended: the SAP Open (RIP), Indian Wells, Miami, the French Open and the LA Tennis Challenge (exho). She also tweets about tennis constantly @TheSportBird, and has written two novels inspired by NBA basketball.

This is Javier, also known on the tennis courts of the Inland Empire in Southern California as “The Argentine,” also known as the guy who runs Yes, he even is of Argentine heritage; his family is from Mendoza and has spent a significant part of his life in the country. He’s been running TennisThis since the summer of 2009.

When he’s not logged into the computer, he’s usually tinkering with tennis racquets; customizing, balancing, matching, and stringing racquets for his clients. When that’s done, he squeezes in time on the tennis courts, perfecting his Andy Roddickesq serve (not really at all), and working up a neanderthal like sweat.

His claim to tennis fame is having a hit with former world #8, Mark Philippoussis and taking a few snaps with Novak Djokovic, James Blake, Mats Wilander, and Nicolas Mahut. You can follow the tweets coming from Javier @Tennisthis.
